Embark on an 8-day trekking adventure through Morocco’s Draa Valley and desert, exploring the beauty of palm groves, kasbahs, and vast dunes. Journey with nomads, camping under the stars in the Tidri, Erg Sahel, and Erg Lahnithie dunes, experiencing the solitude of the desert and Berber hospitality. Enjoy a visit to the 12th-century Quranic library in Tamgroute and travel through scenic landscapes, including the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, before returning to Marrakech. This unforgettable journey offers a true desert experience, blending adventure, culture, and nature.

Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech

Welcome at the airport and transfer to your charming riad for the night.

Day 2: Marrakech / Tizi n'Tichka / Zagora / Nesrate

Cross the Tichka Pass and the city of Ouarzazate, arriving in the stunning Draa Valley, known for its fortified villages, palm groves, and kasbahs. Arrive at the village of Nesrate and set up camp.

Day 3: Nesrate / Tidri Dunes

Embark on a timeless adventure discovering the vast spaces of the Draa River. This first stage takes you through palm groves dotted with Saharan villages, passing by the ksar of Zaouiat Sidi Salah before reaching your camp at the Tidri dunes.

Day 4: Tidri Dunes / Erg Sahel

Between the erg and reg, explore the Erg Sahel desert, enjoying a midday break under the shade of tamaris trees. Continue your journey through a magnificent desert landscape, with complete solitude. Camp amidst the dunes.

Day 5: Erg Sahel / Erg Lahnithie

A day full of surprises, advancing through the reg—a mineral plateau dotted with tamaris and acacias. In the distance, the villages of Bounou, M’hamid, and Ouled Driss appear, and you’ll reach the small dunes where the camp is set.

Day 6: Erg Lahnithie / Erglihoudi

Continue through vast fields of dunes and desert plateaus. The journey will bring you to a nomadic camp for your last night in the desert. Enjoy the comforts of a well-equipped fixed camp nestled in the heart of the Juif dunes, complete with solar lighting, a shower, and towels. Celebrate your final night in the desert with your camel team.

Day 7: Erglihoudi / Ouled Driss / Marrakech

Early morning departure for Ouled Driss, followed by a 1.5-hour walk. Meet your minibus and head back to Marrakech, passing through Tamgroute, where you can visit the Quranic library, home to manuscripts dating back to the 12th century. Enjoy the beautiful Draa Valley and cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Marrakech.

Day 8: Departure

Transfer to the airport 2 hours before your departure time.
